WHAT IS IT?
It is an interactive visual representation of the territory that displays categories or levels of security risk exclusively for Omnitempus clients.
WHO DEVELOPED IT?
The HERI was conceived, designed and built by Omnitempus' Security and Situation Analysis Center (SIAC) which has been operating for more than five years researching, processing and analyzing information from various sources that may have a direct or indirect impact on the country's national defense and/or citizen, public, or private security.
HOW WAS IT MADE?
It was built by correlating more than 20 critical variables affecting the territory to visualize risk patterns in different municipalities of the country.
WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE?
Analyze the security risks present in the most vulnerable territories in 2021. Risk levels are calculated by adding the values assigned to each of the variables.
HOW IS IT IMPLEMENTED?
The tool is designed to help in making security decisions for multinational companies with operations both in the countryside and in the city, diplomatic and consular missions, as well as large, medium and small industries.
WHAT FEATURES DOES IT HAVE?
It is comprehensive (multivariable), practical (easy to access and control), dynamic (updated annually), and interactive (multiple functions and visualizations included with the risk map).
WHAT KIND OF VARIABLES WERE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT?
All kinds of risk factors that could affect people as well as public and private infrastructure including organized armed/criminal groups, illegal income, violence and security indicators, geographic factors, etc.
WHAT DOES IT SHOW?
Using Tableau software, a geographic information system (GIS), five risk categories can be assigned to different territories: Very High, High, Medium, Low and Very Low. It also provides information on illegal armed groups, and illicit economies, as well as kidnapping and terrorism distribution indicators.

At the bottom left of the HERI platform are the five risk categories; users can click on any of the categories for further information. By selecting a specific municipality, a detailed table is displayed highlighting the main indicators of violence and insecurity.
The toolbar also features three buttons that display armed actors, criminal economies, kidnapping cases and terrorist attacks perpetrated during 2021.
